U23 GB November Trials

On the 9th and 10th of November, 12 DUBC athletes travelled down to Boston to compete in the U23 November Trials. On Saturday 9th, they faced a 2k erg test, setting many PB’s, including an impressive score of 6:04.9 by Alfie Dean for the men and 6:54.9 by Zoe McCutcheon for the women. These scores set the athletes in a good position to perform for the 5k time trial on the water the following morning.

On Sunday 10th, they hit the water for a 5k time trial in both pairs and singles, coming away with some outstanding results. Including Charlie Warren and Will Morgan-Jones coming 10th overall and 3rd U23 in the pair, Harry Wildridge and Bob Bryden coming 22nd overall and 10th U23 pairs, Zoe McCutcheon coming 29th overall and Anna Grace finishing 17th U23.

Many alumni also competed at trials, and also produced some great performances. Most notable George Bourne coming 1st in the Men’s single.

All the athletes that attended this trials from DUBC have come away learning a lot of valuable lessons and experiences. This is the start of the long GB trialling process and it is a great start for these athletes.
